PARICÓ
The design for the long, continuous fringe of the Paricó pendant light arose from the specific needs of a project with a double-height ceiling, seeking to fill the space with style, as well as stimulating the senses of those circulating in the area.
“To structure the piece, metal hoops of different sizes were used, forming the curvilinear silhouette of the piece, which appears to float. The long, hanging natural fibers evoke the idea of refuge and aim to filter the light,” explains Jayme Bernardo. The composition results in a curious piece that attracts attention not only for its size but also for its luminosity effect.
Brazilianness with identity
Born from Jayme's drawing boards, the pendant project met with Itens' creative director, Mariana Amaral, and with the art of the hands of Alagoas women, full of rusticity, simplicity, and knowledge passed down from generation to generation. The Paricó is an imposing and beautiful pendant, strong and poetic, inspired by the movement of the Amazonian waters.
Art and nature working together
Itens is a company that encourages designers, small factories, communities, and artisans to create original lighting pieces. Alongside this, the search for the natural is an increasingly present theme in interior design projects. In this context, fibers, textures, and earthy colors provide a more welcoming atmosphere to spaces, and also evoke a feeling of closeness and reconnection to nature.
