LAMPARINA
Composed of 4 models of lampshades and 3 models of wall lights, the collection was designed in 2018 and released in 2019 by our creative director Mariana Amaral. The inspiration came, according to her, from her roots: “Dutch, Portuguese, Africans, Italians, Indians, and Brazilians; I am the result of this delicious mixture that certainly explains my preference for everything that is original, authentic and different and also my passion for stories, stories, and particular epics. As a child and until very recently, I loved hearing stories told by my beloved grandfather Francisco. Coming from the interior of Ceará he brought in his luggage memories of conversations about sorrel, gold nuggets, amorous conquests, and tales of bravery. At that time and to this day, not only where he lived, but in several houses around this Brasilzão, conversation circles were and are illuminated by lamps. Without the benefit of electric light, viola fashions, stories, the report of the day of these people and the family life is in the light of lamps, from the simplest ones, made with oil cans, to glass ones, in most reused. Clarice Lispector, Cora Coralina, and countless poets mentioned the lamps, and thinking here with my buttons I identified in the breath an ally for my creation. If Linaldo Guedes once said that the “poem comes from the flame of the Lamparina”, I decided that our modern LAMPARINA would be born from the same breath that “erases” the conversation of the peasant, hillbilly or countryman, to determine that the rest. From the huge glass spheres hand-blown by my friend artist Elvira Schuartz my lamps are born, which adorned with brass, copper, or steel and luxurious domes appear extremely high and powerful stimulating the poetic beauty in modern houses ”.
