ORIENTAL

ORIENTAL wall sconce Bruno de Carvalho creative direction Mariana Amaral
light as ritual
inspired by the delicacy and balance of Japanese aesthetics, it proposes a dialogue between rigor and lightness. A slender brass rod precisely crosses overlapping layers of raw cotton.
The secret lies in the texture: the use of fabrics with different weave intensities allows light to be filtered gradually, creating a soft gradient that mimics the passage of time. More than a utilitarian object, it is a piece that sculpts the twilight and invites contemplation.
The ORIENTAL collection explores the superposition of natural materials from a contemporary perspective. Structured in polished brass, the piece uses raw cotton as a diffusing element.
Through a rhythmic play of transparencies, the different densities of the textile weaves scale the passage of light, transforming direct illumination into a diffuse and welcoming aura. A minimalist encounter between the geometry of metal and the organic nature of natural fiber.
